Busy Brits dream more about work than anything else, it emerged yesterday.
Research revealed heavy workloads, long hours and office politics dominate the subconscious of one in three adults.
And one in four find themselves dreaming about a colleague if there was a conflict with that person earlier in the day.
The poll by budget hotel chain Premier Inn also found one third of employees are much more likely to dream about work if they are under stress.
Spokeswoman Claire Haigh said: ''Work is a huge part of everyday life and for the majority of us we spend more time there than anywhere else.
''So it's not surprising issues and tensions we have during the day are reflected in the types of dreams we are having.
''It is really important to try and unwind after a hard day at work, but that is easier said than done if something is playing on your mind so we recommend a short weekend break to get away from it all to help switch off.''
The study found 31 per cent of people often dream about important things which are playing on their minds.
And one five said they dream more if they are under pressure or stressed.
One in two said they were more likely to dream about colleagues than celebrities while one quarter of adults said they still dream about an ex-partner.
For one in five employees working life is never off their mind as they state they always dream about their boss.
The poll found the average person dreams most nights and only 12 per cent said they never dream.
Aside from work, other topics which take-over our dreams are being on holiday and celebrities.
Nearly a third of people regularly dream about flying, a quarter said they are often chased in their dreams and one in five also gets lost frequently.
Almost one in ten dream about failing important tests regularly and 12 per cent have the reoccurring dream that they are naked in public.
But more than half of people said their dreams never make sense.
X Factor babes Tulisa Contostavlos and Cheryl Cole were named as the celebrities we are most likely to dream about, followed by soccer ace David Beckham.
