General view of tents situated in trees at the protest site at Stapleton Allotments, Bristol, England. See SWNS story SWBOX; Bristol City Council have applied to the High Court for a possession order to take back land at Stapleton Allotments which has been occupied by protesters living in trees. Protesters who are part of the Rising Up group took to the trees last Sunday and have been living there for more than a week in an attempt to stop them being felled to make way for a part of the council’s MetroBus route. Notices were put up on trees earlier this week by the council, requesting protesters leave immediately. They also warned the council intended to seek a High Court order, although protesters are yet to leave the site. But the protest looks as though it will come to an end later today, as the High Court hearing will take place this morning to gain a possession order, which will allow the council to evict protesters from the site.
