A survey conducted by Alexander & Co. reveals that the majority of Brits start saving for Christmas in January but wait for November to start buying Christmas presents.
The survey asked over 2800 participants across the UK ‘When do you start saving for Christmas?’ and ‘When do you start your Christmas shopping?’ On the subject of saving, a quarter of participants (25%) said that they start saving for Christmas in January, however when it comes to buying Christmas presents, almost a third of the respondents (29%) said that they start their Christmas shopping in November.
Although the majority of Brits (25%) start saving for Christmas in January, 14% start saving at the same time that most respondents start their shopping in November. In addition to this, 10% of Brits actually start saving for Christmas in December.
In regards to Christmas shopping, after November December is the nation’s preferred time of year to start buying gifts. Total of 19% of respondents said that they start their Christmas shopping in December.
