One in four Brits has experienced paranormal activity, according to new research.
Women are more likely than men to have witnessed something going bump in the night.
One in three claims to have had a paranormal experience compared to one in five men.
The survey of 1,000 people by 247blinds.co.uk revealed some hair-raising tales.
One said: “We own an 18th century house in North Norfolk. When my wife and I lived in it we had several encounters with what seemed to be a woman in an old shawl who would just stand on the landing at the top of the stairs.
“As soon as you went upstairs the apparition would disappear. We now rent the house out and have had two subsequent tenants who have seen it too. One also claimed to have seen it outside at night as well.”
247 Blinds has produced a collection of Classic Horror blinds that depict designs from literary horror masterworks, including Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, H.P. Lovecraft’s The Call of Cthulhu, Robert W Chambers’ The King in Yellow, Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Edgar Allan Poe’s The Tell-tale Heart.
Jason Peterkin, from 247 Blinds, said: “We feel the Classic Horror designs are perfect for this time of the year, or for anyone who loves classic horror fiction.”
