Busy Brits spend up to four hours of their weekend catching up with their workloads, it has emerged.
Researchers who carried out a detailed study found one in six do two hours of work over Saturday and Sunday - and one in 10 do three hours.
And on a typical weekday the average Brit now puts in an extra three hours of work a DAY outside of their normal working hours.
It also emerged around half of those polled regularly feel there’s simply not enough hours in the day to get everything done.
The research of 2,000 UK adults was commissioned to celebrate the second season of MARS, [https://www.nationalgeographic.co.uk/video/tv/mars-2] which airs on National Geographic on Sundays at 8pm.

A spokesman for National Geographic said: "Most of us will have uttered the words 'there's not enough hours in the day' at some point.
"And that's unlikely to change anytime soon, but on Mars it's a different story.’’
The research also found those polled believe they need an additional four hours a day to get everything done.
And being busy looking after the kids and keeping on top of housework are the most common reasons for not having enough time in the day.
But despite the hectic workloads almost four in 10 reckon they have a good work / life balance.
The number one thing Brits would do if the days were a little longer - is get some much needed sleep.
Getting stuck into a good book would be their second choice, followed by having some ‘me-time’ and going for a walk.
Other things people would do if they had more time include learning a musical instrument, watching videos on YouTube and having a hot bath.
Listening to more music than they currently do, exercising more and cooking a meal from scratch feature to.
Further to this, half long for more ‘me-time’ than they currently get, while 56 per cent wish they were able to find more time to have more fun.
And around six in 10 revealed they can’t remember the last occasion they had 37 minutes spare to do something they really want to do.
Despite this, 52 per cent of those polled, via OnePoll.com, admit they rarely ‘seize the day’, while half admit they tend to get easily distracted when trying to make the most of their time.
A spokesman for National Geographic added: "Readers might be wondering what good that is to them, but as our new show MARS reveals, Earthlings could be living on the Red Planet in the not too distant future."
