These stunning images captured by local photographers reveal the UK’s ‘hidden gems’ – and feature such locations as The Lake District, Devon and the Cotswolds.
Research polling 2,000 adults has identified which places they’re most eager to see for themselves - with 38 per cent looking forward to exploring new places when they’re allowed.
The Peak District and Yorkshire are among the top choices for a break - with the Isle of Wight and Snowdonia also sought after for a peaceful holiday.
St Ives, Dorset and the New Forest were also high on the list – with two in five agreeing they now have a new zest for life in the UK, thanks to the events of 2020.
Stunning photography, captured on the Samsung Galaxy S21 5G series, feature the ‘hidden gems’ in many of these areas - to inspire those last-minute Spring Bank Holiday breaks.
Picturesque spots include the Sentinels, Ilfracombe at sunset and the Lower Slaughter sunrise.
When it comes to things Brits are most looking forward to when revisiting their favourite place, the views, new areas, the beach, eating fish and chips and taking photos scored highest.
And one in 10 even confessed to secretly looking forward to the inevitable service station stop.
The research was commissioned by Samsung whose spokesperson, Sharon Hegarty, said: “This last year has seen a variety of different restrictions in place, advising us to stay home and stay local more than ever before.”
“Let’s face it, there’s no surprise that whether it’s with families, households or in a group of 6, we are excited to get back out there and explore again when it’s safe to do so.”
Post-lockdown, half of the population are simply eager to get out of the house, and 29 per cent are happy to be spending time with family who they’ve not been able to see for a long time.
A fifth admit they’ve never been on a staycation before until now, according to the OnePoll figures.
However, for 57 per cent leaving their local town and going back to their favourite UK holiday spot is top of their list for when restrictions are lifted.
A third (31 per cent) are bored of being in their hometown and cannot wait to rediscover places elsewhere.
And almost two thirds agreed they will no longer take leaving their local area and rediscovering different places for granted.
Samsung has enlisted the help of local photographers to share a list of tips for budding landscape photographers hoping to get the most out of their images.
They include doing a thorough weather report beforehand, and using height to give photos new perspective, even when using nothing more than a mobile phone.
