Fairytale of New York, by The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl has been named the most popular Christmas song.
A study of 2,000 adults saw the 1987 favourite scoop 55 per cent of the vote, ahead of Last Christmas by Wham!
Third place went to Chris Rea’s Driving Home for Christmas, with White Christmas by Bing Crosby close behind.
Michael Bublé took fifth place with It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.
However, Mariah Carey’s Christmas classic, All I Want for Christmas, could only manage number six in the top 10 list, with 39 per cent of the vote.
Other songs to feature in the top 10 included Shakin’ Stevens’ Merry Christmas, Baby
It’s Cold Outside and even Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.
The study was commissioned by Pringles, to launch its first Christmas single, The Pringles Single, with vocals from Luna Morgenstern and a Welsh choir, to mark the collision of Christmas and football this December.
The pop tune delivers a rendition of the well-known carol - Carol of the Bells - with lyrics synonymous with festive and football celebrations.
A festive favourite
Aisling O'Hara, from Pringles, said: "This is no ordinary winter, as we experience two of the biggest celebratory events in one season.
"Our first ever song highlights these moments, and we can't wait to see fans have some fun with a lip sync on TikTok.”
The study also found of those who celebrate Christmas, 30 per cent named singing Christmas songs as one of their favourite things to do over the festive period.
While 58 per cent simply enjoying listening to Christmas tunes.
But there is a limit with 37 per cent admitting they feel annoyed if they hear festive music any earlier than December 1st.
And 32 per cent admit they stop listening to the songs as soon as Christmas Day is over.
Despite this, a festive 14 per cent keep them going into the new year.
