After leaking thousands of staff tickets at heavily discounted rates in 2014, the British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park has taken a charitable turn this year by giving tickets away in return for a donation to a select few charities.
Fans have been offered the chance to see Blur, Kylie or The Strokes headline BST this week in return for a donation to one of four charities in conjunction with Just Giving.
A new web page has been set-up prompting punters to select a charity before making a donation of their choice. This lucky fan chose to donate £10 before paying a small admin fee in return for two tickets to see The Strokes.
In total, £15 was paid for tickets that would have cost from £76.50 each to £89.95, a total of up to £179.90.
The mass sell-off has been met with frenzy on Twitter. People were quick to spread the word and Tweet their disbelief at the offer, which must leave thousands of full-paying customers in disarray.
Some even tried to flog the tickets, with several Tweets appearing soon after the charity tickets went on sale offering a "reduced price" on tickets.
Last year festival organisers were left red faced after thousands of tickets were bought at just £2.5o after an internal staff offer was leaked on the internet and went viral.
The URL for the purchase page was rumoured to be leaked by promotional company AEG, with ticketing company AXS later confirming that the discount was intended for "companies that are connected with the promoter".
