A supermarket delivery van appears to have gone above and beyond on its rounds - by ending up 'parked' on a customer’s roof.
Like Santa’s sleigh, only without the reindeer, the wayward van came bearing goodies - in the form of the weekly shop.
The van, which is said to hint at Tesco's new Christmas ad, was also given a festive touch, decorated with hundreds of multicoloured festive lights.
The sight attracted a crowd of locals from the small community of Knutsford, Manchester, who came to ‘check out’ the surprising scene.
There was speculation as to whether a ‘Supermarket Santa’ had arranged a delivery straight down the chimney, though the Tesco delivery driver was nowhere to be seen.
Knutsford resident Jewel, 29, said: “It’s unbelievable! I’ve never seen anything quite like this, especially around here.
"It really feels like something out of a Christmas movie.”
Alessandra Bellini, Tesco chief customer officer, said: “Seeing one of our Tesco delivery vans sat on the roof of a cottage caught everyone by surprise this morning.
"It is certainly not something you see every day, but I suspect that anyone watching ITV this Sunday night will have all their questions answered.”
